Jane@CM 60 DC Challenge Hublog
57I am a newbie to the 60 Day Challenge! To be honest, I'm a bit nervous that I won't be up for the task.
My goals are:
- Increase my earnings
- Learn from seasoned writers and new writers
- Learn more about making money online
- To become a better online writer
This is just a rough outline of what my goals are. I intend to hub about several different areas of interest to me. I will be focusing on the upcoming Holidays, take part in the HubMob when possible, and write about our new venture, moving to California. These are general ideas that I will work on along with a list of ideas I've created.
If you are new to the 60 Day Challenge, read more by the developer of the this challenge Sunforged.
I would also suggest reading this Hub by Enlightenedsoul, it is very well laid out and gives a great deal of information.
You will also want to to use the 60 DC/Hubpages tool bar.
I look forward to meeting new people, getting sound advice and feel free to critique (just be nice).

Daily Thoughts/Actions
olI will use this hublog to record my daily thoughts, actions and progress.
8/15/2010
I feel like a fire was just lit under my feet! What have I gotten myself into?? It is a crazy time here. My daughter is here for a short visit and I have two more days of power shopping and time to spend with her before she leaves at noon on Wednesday. While we are out and about I will be taking photos and notes of the various towns we visit, which I will use in several hubs about the area.
This evening I will be researching keywords and researching the web for several of my hubs. If feel like I'm at a good starting point for creating a good niche that hopefully will make a bit of money along the way.
I am also going to read Hubs from the first challenge and make sure to read those who are participating in the 2nd challenge.
8/17/2010
So the day has come and gone!!! I think my last dollar was spent today, so its a good thing that power shopping is over! I have not been on the computer for almost a day and a half. For those of you who do not know me, we recently relocated 2000 miles. My daughter stayed in Minnesota where she attends college. She is here until tomorrow - so I have been really caught up with just being with her. She won't be here again until Winter Break.
I will begin publishing tomorrow. So a day late a dollar short - that's me! I also get to have a crown started tomorrow morning - so I'll not only be a day late, I'll be numb too! (You will eventually get my odd sense of humor, just not the facial and hand expressions) :)
8/18/2010
I'm back from the dentist, the left side of my face is numb! My daughter is busy packing and I'm feeling like I'm losing my little girl once again. Today will be a good day for me to fully concentrate on the good of this challenge and not the negative of having to say goodbye to her again. I keep telling myself that four months is not an eternity & she will be back.
I didn't mention this earlier, but it may be of some help to others. I am fully utilizing my Google Calendar. Using the week planner, I am able to block time in my schedule for:
- Keeping up to date on other hubbers taking the challenge, reading their work, commenting or giving the thumbs up.
- Writing in each hub that I plan to publish on a given day.
- Researching keywords
- Editing my photographs
- Planning my day excursions for various hubs I plan to write about.
- Taking time to invest and create new friendships with fellow writers and learn from all of you!
It is an immediate satisfaction to look at the calendar and know exactly what my plan is for the day.
8/22/2010
Does bad luck just follow me around? Okay, I've finished the first three hubs, later than expected but they are done & I'm raring to go on the next set. I am utilizing the Hubmob topics when I have something to say on the subject :)
Yesterday afternoon our PC went wacko. I've spend the better part of two days trying to fix it and to this point, I now have a computer that isn't shutting of the minute I turn it on! YES JANE!

I think the PC is dead for life, the blue screen of death is all I get now, with new error messages each time I try to start in safe mode. So the question now is, new computer or have a computer tech check it out to see if it can be fixed. I'll admit, this set me back. I'm very attached to that PC. I have a full functioning laptop now, so I can still work. I just don't have the memory to install Photo Shop, which I use extensively.
So with a new outlook that its really not all that bad, considering life as a whole -- it is just a materialistic object.
I have one more hub under my belt. Buy Webkinz Stuffed Animals Online. I have to be honest, these stuffed animals are so adorable, I didn't know which ones to feature. I wanted them all in the hub, but didn't want to over do it.
I do want to mention, I've really been trying to read as many team members hubs as possible, I may not comment, but I guarantee you are getting a thumbs up! Keep it up team, we are going to rock this place :) So many of you have amazing layouts and there is much to learn from each of you in our own special way! Have a great day. j

So do you have Writers Block? Here is a little hub just for you! It is something I struggle with far more than I'd like. This hub is one of the hubs where I will be experimenting - I won't be using Amazon. This is hub #2 that I chose not to use Amazon in an effort to boost my Adsense earnings. Have a happy day!
Wow it is 9/1/2010 already! Hard to believe. If you've been following along, which I am positive you have been, I haven't logged for a few days. I'm not totally over losing my beloved desktop, but I have moved on. Check out these hubs for the 60 day challenge!

The First 30 Days in Review
I'll admit right now, I wasn't sure I'd make it. I wasn't as confidant as I wanted to be and there were days that I just didn't have the words to type. I had the outlines, I had the ideas, but the words just were not there. With that said, I want to personally thank several 60 Day Challenge 2 team members for always being supportive, helping me out with technological stuff - like Twitter. I now tweet thanks to Wavegirl - you can find me on twitter @hubjane!
I did use both the Hubmob and the Hubpages Marks the Spot contest for several of my ideas. I think participating in both is a win-win situation for any hub page writer.
My first and foremost thanks go out to our fearless leader, Sunforged who without his extraordinary talents in SEO and communications skills - this would not have been possible. As a human, he is what the definition of a great human being is all about.
I had a strong group of supporters, that I've gotten to know over the last 30 days. We truly have become a great team and I hope they know that they can call on me whenever they need. These are not only great writers, but great people, willing to go the extra mile. In no particular order, I thank:
I also want to thank the other 60 Day Challengers who really took the time and effort to comment on my hubs and other challengers hubs - you know who you are - you've been amazing, kind, considerate and supportive! I also want to thank those who know how to tweet - I'm not quite there yet, but I'm working on it! So thanks for tweeting my hubs!
Now on to Phase II of the 60 Day Challenge. I can't wait. I look forward to new learning opportunities and a continued opportunity to work with a great team of people. I have a suspicious feeling there will be a lot of late nights!

Jane, Welcome Aboard! I am sure you are going to have a wonderful experience with this challenge. At times it can get intense, but there is such a great group of people in the challenge with you, you will never feel alone. One request is that you put "online writing goals" as a tag in your tags on this hub only. This will help other people find your hub-log.
I will add your hub to my hub-log. Please stop by and leave a comment.
Good-Luck and great success!
Welcome Jane I look forward to doing the challenge together - there is much to learn and experience.
welcome aboard!
Hi there, Jane, great to see you on the challenge!
Welcome Jane! I look forward to working with you. I think this will be a great experience for us all.
Welcome Jane! There is nothing to worry about with the 60dc. If there is anything you need to know - no matter how stupid it feels to you (btw - it isnt - there is always someone who wont ask who will be thinking the same questions as you!)- just ask! No one will judge you - we all want you to be the best you can be. It is about being unconditional and using people power to bump up every member of the team to generate traffic, personal development and revenue.
*united we stand*
Jane@CM - Welcome! As a fairly new member of Hubpages, I'm a bit nervous about the challenge as well. All the best luck in reaching your goals.
Welcome aboard Jane. I am so glad that elites are joining up for this challenge. Participants will have a lot to learn. I am sure this challenge would be successful for you and the whole team. And thanks for the mention!!
Jane hip-hooray you made it. Great to see you aboard. Since your forte is asking questions I am sure that this part of the challenge will come to you like water off a ducks back.
You did say critique, so I will mention that 'Challenge' in your title shows as 'Challege' - oops! We've all done it. Rushing to get a hub out, checking everything else except our title and web address.
Good luck and welcome to the challenge, I am sure that you can do very well...
Good Luck! I'm nervous too! But is should be fun. Lots of awesome people to help us along the way. :)
Jane, welcome to the team. It is fun and a challenge.
Looking forwared to much success as we deal with this challenge and grow as firends and fellow earners! Good luck!
I like your goals, and I appreciate the fact that while you are a hub pages elite, you still strive for personal growth and improvement.
Welcome to the team. I hope you have a great visit with your daughter, and come back recharged and rarin' to go.
Namaste.
Welcome to the challenge! I thought I'd seen all of the hublogs, but Wavegirl's line up showed me a few new faces. Good luck in the challenge! It'll be great to work and learn with you!
I'm a newbie too and I'm also nervous... and I joined late. (sigh). But best of luck to you!
Hi Jane! So excited to see you in the 60 day challenge. Do not worry! That's what got me messed up the first time around! Worry is like fear, a little mind killer. You have what it takes to get through the challenge! You'll be great! Some days you won't finish a single hub, but the next day you might get in two or three! Just don't do like I did, don't let worry win! Worry is meant to be a motivator, not a time delayer! LOL. If you get worried write me, I'll walk you through it, I have definitely been there!
Great Luck in the challenge! I'm getting more excited by the minute!
Hello Jane I am looking forward to working with you on this my first challenge too.
I have a lot to learn about promotion of my hubs because I too want to earn money by doing something I am passionate about.
Good luck and I look froward to reading your hubs.
Jane, best of luck and never mind being new to some of this.
Oooh, I'm a bit nervous as well, however, I believe we can make this challenge happen. I'm pulling for you. Best wishes and let's win! :)
Just following along with the log- How is the PC treating you now?
Thank you for the acknowledgment, Jane. And hang in there; we'll all soon see the rewards for our efforts!
Well done indeed. Doing this is a great achievement. I'd like to do the next one!
